ANSM is pleased to announce registration is open for the special workshop

cci_logoArtifacts in Aboriginal Cultural Centres

The workshop is prepared and presented by the Canadian Conservation Institute as part of a series of regional workshops offered across the country. ANSM requested the new Artifacts in Aboriginal Cultural Centres workshop because there are a growing number of First Nations organisations in the Atlantic Region which are engaged in cultural resource management as well as a number of provincial and community museums with significant aboriginal materials collections.

The workshop provides an over view of aboriginal artifacts' materials, agents of deterioration, practical care and handling information with an awareness of the original use and intentions of the artifacts' makers.
