This award honours projects that highlight the stories of individuals who have shaped Atlantic Canadian history.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In partnership with the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bccns.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/africvillemuseum.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Africville Museum<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.loyalist-connections-creative-society.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Loyalist Connections Creative Society<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and community museums across Nova Scotia, ANSM will develop a travelling exhibit and educational resources to share the powerful and often overlooked story of Dr. Ligoure \u2014 a physician, editor, advocate, and hero of the Halifax <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Explosion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Born in Trinidad and trained in medicine in Canada, Dr. Ligoure became a tireless advocate for African Nova Scotians.
