CALL FOR PROPOSALS\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ANSM Annual Conference<\/span>
\nOctober 1 – 2, 2026<\/span>
\nStellarton, NS<\/span><\/p>\n

The Association of Nova Scotia Museums (ANSM) is inviting proposals for presentations, panels, and activities for our annual conference at the Museum of Industry in Stellarton from October 1 – 2, 2026. This conference will also celebrate ANSM\u2019s 50th anniversary. All sessions will be held in-person.<\/span>
\nThe theme of this conference is CAKE: A Recipe for the Future of Museums<\/strong>, where:<\/span>
\nC<\/strong> = Community<\/span>
\nA<\/strong> = Access<\/span>
\nK<\/strong> = Knowledge-sharing<\/span>
\nE<\/strong> = Engagement<\/span>
\nOur goal is to create an atmosphere of joy for the museum sector of Nova Scotia by incorporating ANSM\u2019s Cake Policy into the theme of this conference.<\/span>
\nProposals are invited for a variety of types of sessions, including presentations (20 – 45 minutes), panels (60 – 90 minutes), and\/or hands-on workshops\/activities (60 – 90 minutes). Topics may include, but are not limited to:<\/span>
\nInclusivity and relationship-building with communities<\/span>
\nPreserving and sharing community stories and perspectives<\/span>
\nPromoting safe and healthy communities at museums<\/span>
\nAddressing accessibility – physical, intellectual, digital<\/span>
\nOff-site and outdoor programming and services<\/span>
\nSuccession planning and staff\/volunteer recruitment and resilience<\/span>
\nEngaging youth\/young adults and school groups<\/span>
\nSponsorship recruitment and engagement<\/span>
\nTo submit a proposal, please include the name(s) of the presenter(s)\/panelists and their contact information, plus:<\/span>
\nA brief description of your presentation\/panel\/activity<\/span>
\nProposed length of your presentation\/panel\/activity, including question period<\/span>
\nBrief speaker bio(s)<\/span>
\nAny accessibility requirements or adaptations needed<\/span><\/p>\n
