Introducing Ella

Hello, my name is Ella, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as a recent arrival to Toronto from Hong Kong, having made this exciting move in August 2023. My academic background is rooted in English language and literature, a field I pursued passionately during my university years. Following my graduation, I embarked on a professional journey in Hong Kong, where I honed my skills as a marketing and operational assistant manager in a wholesale company.

A devoted cat lover at heart, I also have a profound love for travel and exploring different cultures. This passion often leads me to visit museums wherever I travel, sparking a deep interest in museum studies. Embracing this newfound passion, I made the bold decision to quit my job and delve deeper into the world of museum management. Currently, I am pursuing a postgraduate diploma in Museum Management at Centennial College, where I am immersing myself in this fascinating field.

I believe Canada, with its rich cultural tapestry and historical depth, offers a fertile ground for the development and enhancement of museums. With a keen eye on the myriad opportunities and potential improvements in this sector, I am eager to contribute my skill set and experience to the Canadian museum industry.

I am particularly excited about the work and philosophy of ANSM (Association of Nova Scotia Museums), and I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of this community. As I embark on this new chapter of my life, I look forward to learning from everyone at ANSM and hope to make meaningful contributions to the association. My journey is not just about personal growth but also about enhancing the cultural and educational landscape of museums in Canada.
