Museum Accreditation Update
ANSM is pleased to announce that four museums have been granted the new designation of Accredited Museum. The Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum, Avon River Heritage Museum, DesBrisay Museum and Northumberland Fisheries Museum are the first museums in the province to receive this designation.
Accreditation is the public acknowledgement of excellence in Nova Scotia’s museums. It demonstrates a museum’s commitment to public accountability and professional standards. Accreditation is peer-adjudicated and awarded to museums that excel in their evaluation and meet other criteria.
ANSM applauds the efforts of the board members, staff and volunteers at these museums for their service to the museums and communities. We look forward to more museums receiving this designation on an annual basis.
