I would like to say farewell, as I finish the last day of my final placement at ANSM though the Child and Youth Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University. During my time here with ANSM I have learned so much as I accepted a new challenge to me, in helping create learning activities, making updates to existing learning activities, and translating a few as well.
When I walked into ANSM I only knew the Capable, Confident, and Curious: Nova Scotia’s Early Learning Curriculum Framework for working with young children as I do at the daycare I work at. I have, with the help from both Karin and Alyssa, gained an understanding of the Nova Scotia School Curriculum as well as some knowledge of working with guidelines and outlines from the museum perspective. I created an activity based around the Acadian Culture on how to create an Aboiteau and translated it to French, an activity about the history and how to make Maple Syrup and a word search, translated 5 of the Acadian Culture Learning Activities, as well as made some updates to meet the current Nova Scotia School Curriculum.
As museums are supposed to, this placement sparked inspiration, discovery, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of history, culture, and art.
Thank you to the team at ANSM for accepting me as part of your team to complete my final placement with you.
