Looking back on the past seven weeks of my internship, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity I have been given. I feel I have learned so much about the exciting yet challenging nature of working here at ANSM.

On my first day of the job, I was welcomed by an enthusiastic and warm group of people- even though they had been experiencing a somewhat chaotic day. Over time, I soon realized how vast the workload is for each person here at ANSM; I started to understand why it is so hard to respond to the question: “what is it that

you do for work?” The answer is “a little bit of everything.” I found myself learning skills that I never would have acquired in my undergraduate chemistry degree.

Visiting a handful of museums as part of my job was so much fun, not only because I was able to browse the “behind the scenes” of museum collections, but also because I got to interact with a variety of lovely museum workers who were passionate about their work.

Thank you so much to the ANSM team- Devin, Karin, Emilie, and Alyssa- you all have made my already exciting time here even more enjoyable, if that is even possible 🙂

Warmest regards,

Sophie
