About Our Conference
The conference will be held over two days, October 3rd and 4th at the Lunenburg Opera House, in Lunenburg, NS. This year’s theme is All Hands on Deck! We will have a diverse slate of programming and something for every museum including sessions on Community Engagement, Conservation, Financial Management, Exhibitions, and Reconciliation and Repatriation. We’re thrilled to announce that Canadian Museums Association Executive Director and CEO Janis Monture will deliver the closing Keynote on Friday, October 4.
In addition to a thoughtful and practical series of speakers, the Conference will provide many opportunities to network with your colleagues, decompress after a busy summer, and experience Lunenburg hospitality at its finest.

The Association of Nova Scotia Museums Dr. Peter Cullen Memorial Bursary is available to help cover registration fees. Learn more >

Accommodation
ANSM has rooms on hold at the Smugglers Cove Inn for discounted rates (15%). For those arriving early, rooms are available the night of Wednesday, October 2nd. Rooms this time of year are difficult to secure so please book your stay early! Please call 902-634-7500 and request a room under the Association of Nova Scotia Museums to receive your discount.

The ANSM Conference is taking place at the Lunenburg Opera House in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia with concurrent sessions on Day 2 taking place at the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic (Gallery 10).

Lunenburg is located 100 KM by highway south west of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Maritime Bus has a stop in Lunenburg less than 1 km from The Lunenburg Opera House. Those travelling by bus can contact admin@ansm.ns.ca to arrange a pick-up from the bus stop.
Sponsorship Opportunities
The ANSM Conference brings together 60-100 museum professionals and represents many museums in the province. Sponsors will have increased visibility with Conference delegates as well as the over 500 museum professionals to whom this Conference will be promoted.
